Vacuum therapy, sometimes known as cupping uses suction by placing suction cups on the body to treat a range of conditions like arthritis, rheumatism, sports injury, trauma, fibromyalgia, fatigue, relieve chronic and acute pain, muscle tension and musculoskeletal (msk) disorders. Is vacuum therapy painful?

Cupping is not painful if carried out by a trained professional,  there maybe a slight pinching sensation. 

Why does vacuum therapy cause bruising?

The circular bruising seen on the backs of cupping patients by the cups bringing blood to the surface of the skin. These are normal and are rarely painful.
